Started by Heidi Fortsch who says "Life is too short to knit with cheap yarn! All that time and energy and love you put into a project only to have it pill or stretch, and just not look good... no thank you! Spinning my own yarn became the next natural step. I was gifted a drop spindle and hated the slow process so I began researching wheels! A few months later I became the proud owner of a Merlin Tree Hitchhiker and this journey began!"

Wool is ecologically friendly, a completely renewable resource, ridiculously warm, hard wearing, flame resistant, and often, water resistant! Who knew?! What I love about spinning art yarns is that I get to keep the special lock structure of each breed in tact! If you want to see the dual coat of the Icelandic, or the drape-y curl of the Lincoln Longwool, or the spiral curl of the Border Leicester, it's all there in my work!
